Chiaki Kuriyama (Japan)

I agree break. Excuse me for exercise editorial capability, but after much consideration I believe we must limit this thread to discussion of Chiaki Kuriyama, not discussion about individual KnT members which is better in personal messages. If I am wrong to act according to this attitude, please tell me, but I believe this forum is not appropriate for flame or blame.

Zero Gravity just posted the fact that Chiaki and some other J-idols, just won Best Dressed 2007. On the acting front. In the last 60 days she has finished two movies and is working on a TV drama that will pair her with Sion Sono again, the producer or writer from her/the Queen Bee Drama, where she was widely popular for. And a cast member from the Hagetaka (Vulture) TV drama.

One thing that everyone that I know personally did point out in her Best Dressed ceremony? She looks exhausted. Since I am sometimes looked at as the bearer of bad news, I didn't say anything. I simply looked at the pics and went on about my business. It didn't take but a day before I got a few emails and phone calls from friends who asked "What's up with your girl? Dude, she looks like she's burned up, dead tired in these pics?"

Of course they were being funny, but once I told them that she just shot KIDS in 30 days, GS Wonderland in 30 days, and now she is getting into this new drama, plus she had this thing with Best Dressed. Everyone agreed that cramming 3 movie/TV projects into a 90 time span? How good will the quality of the projects be when they are microwaved in such a fashion? Hey? I simply told them what I find myself always saying "That's the way its done over there. I'm just happy that she's still doing anything."

But that is the concern which has been voiced and expressed about not just her, but ANY J-idol that is on the fence. When will the bottom fall out without warning? AZ on Outpost Nine, as well as many non-Japanese foreigners living in Japan, are quick to point out that J-idols like Chiaki are prone to being CARRIED, even though there is no REAL AUDIENCE or DEMAND from THE PUBLIC. All I could say was "They simply ride the train till it jumps the tracks and hope to survive the crash. Other than that, they're on TV or up on the big screen so to other J-people, least the ones I've talked to. They see it as they shouldn't complain."

As for me, I have 3 chapters left for Lady Yoma and then I will type it all up and shop it. I have new pictures, links, etc, but no time right now. I will say AS A PERSON, that it is a shame to see her looking like she is older than her years. A friend of mine said she looks like she looks now because she is having a mid-life crisis at 23 years old... which is crazy... I would have to agree when you look at the fact that she has actually been doing model shoots since 11? Then movies, then TV, since about 13 or 14. She's 23 now so she has been doing this for almost 10 years. Many who give a damn have also stated, which I also believe too. That doing Kill Bill has actually HURT HER, by being exposed to possibilities that she can't actually achieve, use, or grow from...

I think she got big demand for say her face was on all magzine. more going on time more she come beauty and beautiful. not the Jidol beauty, a own beauty like no other Jidols.

Yes, that is very nice picture! so beautiful! Kuriyama is scheduled for two movies and one TV show during 2008! As Flesh for fantasy says, she is mature actress, capability and appearance. I think she is grown away from silly kid violence movies in minds of everyone in Japan.

we have almost every good movies or short stories with Chiaki. two movies shedduled next year, this is best than our wishes.

Chiaki's appearence in Tengu gaiden

Chiaki appears in the movie Kids which is now playing and she appears in the drama Ashito No something or another, which is also now playing. I haven't had a chance to check the ratings but Pineapple Soda sent me an email in December stating that she doesn't think that Ashito will do well because it is up against a number of highly anticipated TV drama's. She believes it will have solid storyline and the like, but it has too much competition at its slot.

Keith from the Chiaki Kuriyama shrine has some interesting pics of the Press Conference for Ashito and Chiaki looked very displeased and is eventually shown leaving the conference, since Keith had nothing further on why she left, why she was looking angry, then it is up in the air. Zero Gravity and Serenity Marina will probably be posting the box office results for KIDS as well as the Audience Ratings for Ashito.

Well... looks like she is going to be appearing in the movie Tekken, which is supposedly going to start shooting in Feb...

I don't know how this is supposed to work with the writers strike here in the States. But it will be a chance for her to do some more work over here, for what it is worth.

Happy news clapclap. Good reading she turn films on films and these films are from Japan. Have to wait and see them... (here?)

Flesh, she is being in many films now, it is hard to follow the releases.

Tekken the movie appears to be an actual fact. As for her drama Ashita no, Kita Yoshio...

This drama is straight getting destroyed in the ratings. It is down to a 7% viewer rating which is absolutely horrendous. And that is down 1% from Episode 2, which was down a ton from the Opening Day episode. I wanna make it clear that poor ratings in Japanese TV drama's will eventually cost you your job. Chiaki has not had a successfully rated TV drama in a long, long, lonnnnnnnnnnng time. I have not bothered to watch any versions of Ashita no, Kita Yoshio, but I was hoping that it would at least have solid ratings, decent ratings. One can hope, I guess... Either way I have survived the flu and am still kicking and breathing. Best Chemistry I got you message about the new site and I will probably stop by their next week.

In other news, Lady Yoma is nearing completion. With its completion I will have finished my very first book and hopefully it will get published, wish me luck! If the book is a success, then I can push my plans further ahead for World DOMINATION! LOL!

PS; The above screen cap is from Tokkyo Tanaka San Go, if memory serves the scene right after this shows the main lead male actor riding by on his motorscooter with the overpass overhead where Chiaki is arguing with some dudes. At the precise moment dude is riding by a stiff breeze comes along and upskirts Chiaki showing off her pantied BUTT! Me, being a pervy man, was instantly able to see that IF that WAS Chiaki's BUTT! She was wearing some sort of padding, which is just cowardly to me! If you're gonna show something pervy, then SHOW IT! Do, or DO NOT... there is no try. And if you've decided to flash the audience, then dammit, FLASH THE AUDIENCE! She was wearing panties for Christ sake. I will say that that is something that I have always been semi-irritated by and about, Japan.

Best example; Japanese Porn. Those two words alone are enough to cause angry riots in all 50 states, plus Guam and Puerto Rico! Either show it or DON'T, but Jesus, Mary, JOSEPH! Enough with the pixelation already! And if you've ever dealt with or sat through J-porn, you deserve a medal. I've stomached it twice and that was 2x's TOO MUCH! What's my point, you ask?

The scene where they show Chiaki's pantied BUTT, made me cringe like I'd just seen J-porn! It was fake and manufactured and it actually turned me OFF! And that my friends... is just downright, WRONG! A sin I tell ya! A mortal, unforgivable, SIN! However if you actually wanna see Chiaki's narrow ass, check out Great Yokai War, where Takashi Miiki (spelled wrong, I'm sure) does a better job of at least hiding his attempts to expose her BUTT, while trying to hide it... just... WEIRD! AIGU!

good news, this means that we'll have to wait some months before seing something avaliable for us.

I've been watching the 1990's CCTV (China) 84 episode, Romance of the Three Kingdoms! I have the DvD boxed set and I can't get enough of it. Great acting, plus I have a COMPLETE PRINTOUT, of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the book! I read it in less than a week! Which shocked many people, but enough with that!

Keith over at the CKShrine, and I believe he is now a member here, listed under the log-on of CKShrine. Has attempted to get a phone interview with Chiaki, via the onsight shooting for Tekken down in Shreveport, Louisiana, here in the United States. Well, he has posted that she had not signed on yet. This, is bad. Because Crystal Sky Entertainment, used to represent Chiaki, and they are the ones filming Tekken. It is this connection that had always caused her name to be rumored in the whole Tekken movie, in the first place. I personally never followed up on whether or not Chiaki was still being actively represented by Crystal Sky Entertainment, and I'm thinking that she is not. If that is the case, then she may have gotten bumped out or off the project, once she stopped being represented by them... not really sure, so stay tuned, but she MAY NOT BE, in Tekken the movie...

She is however set to be in a play during the month of July, in which she will play a boy...
