Hi to everyone! I have watched this TV series during many nights when I was in Texas for work. I think this is a very nice series, it is emotional and exciting and mostly very good actors.

Some parts did not fit very well in this series, like bad boys attacking Kaoru, this did not help the story or characters, yes? it was kind of silly. But other parts were interesting, like:

(1) story of Asami and Kouji before meeting Kaoru, when they are boyfriend and girlfriend, please understand that when he says "I will protect you" to Asami this is like marriage promise to any Japanese woman

(2) interaction with Producer and Entertainment Company, business is part of life, yes? and Producer and company are shown very well

(3) character of doctor and parents is very much deeper in this series because so long

(4) character of Misaki who is Kaoru's friend, she is more interesting and has boyfriend of her own

(5) character of Kouji is much developed, he has life too and this is more interesting at the end of the series

These parts make a more complex story, yes? and interesting like life. I still like the movie with Yui better than this series, because I like Yui as Kaoru better than Sawajiri, however I respect Sawajiri very much in many ways, I know Sawjiri true life story: her father died from cancer when she was junior high school student, and her brother died in car crash soon after, she has much experience with death of people close to her! and she does not give up in her life, she continues to work in acting and do her best, but she helps her mother by working in restaurant when she is not filming.

Anyway I recommend this TV series, please watch this even though you will cry many times, but you will feel better after crying.

I think this drama fits very well on our board. Regarding your useful comments here and what we have found here on here on the web concerning it. We didn't know about Sawajiri, sad life really. I'll have double attention when I'll watch an episode.
