| I am fortunate enough to have grown up watching Public Television so I tend to watch things from other countries if I can, especially things like the news, just so I can get an idea of what is outside of the US.
As for Asian Movies and the like, we just finished the Korean Historical Drama The Immortal Yi Soon-shin which was 104 episodes and a fantastic KBS Drama about the Chosunese Admiral Yi Soon-Shin and his personal struggles and eventual legend during the Seven Year War with Japan during the Taiko's attempt to conquer Chosun which is present day Korea (or Corea, I believe is how it is actually spelled). Either way we got 2 episodes per week.
That doesn't include whatever HK movie or Shaw Brothers movie my brother might bring over. I've also been fortunate enough to see KBS's other Historical Drama's Emperor Wang Guhn which is over 200 episodes, Dawn of the Empire which is not as good, but I liked the power struggle between the House of Wangs and the Nobles and then the Age of Warriors which was a little over 110 episodes. Other then that... I don't watch American TV unless its news or politics for the most part. |

for some reasons I've also made a break in local (free) governmental TV programs for about two years. we have a TV since a few month only but honestly I've really watched one single movie on it these last months (Sa tree lex, a Thai movie suggested by Sushimi). my friend is in opposit, an avid TV watcher (matches, drama, news, soap shows, advertising etc etc...). most people in France have a satelite or some wired equipment and have choice. that's just plain theory, in my opinion, because speaking with collegues or friends they don't seem to have a somewhat proportional (international) cinematographical knowledge. too bad such paradox leading mostly to this situation :
- Q. Have you ever seen XYZ movie ?
- A. Yeah sure, seen it !
- Q. who's playing in and what's the story about ?
- A. I don't remember, but I remember have seen it one day...
If your plan was to open a constructive discussion about this XYZ movie with this person, you're dead.
anyways, it's funny for us to track down famous dramas that millions people have already seen on classic TV free channels. hopefully, we have not in plan to catch drama composed of hundred episods, as you have seen.

| i'm watching more often korean drama, but in general 2 dramas by week... it takes a lot of time to watch all the dramas and i cannot watch during all the week... yes, korean dramas are always with 2 episodes by week, and now i'm watching The Infamous Chill Sisters and Mr Goodbye on KBS World....
I like The Infamous Chill Sisters who replace Thank you, life.... and my last korean dramas are Hello, God! Summer Scent, sometimes Goodbye Solo, Bizarre Bunch and Thank you, life.... i watched all Green Rose too.. :p
Bizarre Bunch was so long... 170 ep but i started at the middle, but i don't really like it, the same thing for Thank you, life, Summer Scent.... it so long to watch a drama with more than 100 ep....
Now, i watched Mr Goodbye but i find Yougin's character, the main female actress, is annoying.... i'm on the 5ep and is not really interesting for me... but i'm gonna to follow it coz i like to know what it will happens on the next ep.... and i like to talk with many people from all over the world...
i'm a fan for many years of HK movies, Shaw Brothers movies.... and chinese movies too!
if you know few korean drama, like Hello, God! and Green Rose, you can even let your comment in english in my thread "Serie-Drama"....
the only american drama that i like to watch it's New York Special Unity.. i don't know if it's this title in english... _________________ there's something in this world that's more painful than death, it's letting you go... i think i can get anything in this world if i had enough money but, i can't buy time.... should i ask you to wait until i can get into your heart! |

| I really enjoyed the long KBS Historical Drama's. I've tried to watch things like Bizarre Bunch, etc, but it doesn't have the same feel as say Age of Warriors;
 and The Immortal Yi Soon-Shin;

They are the kinds of entertainment that hopefully I will one day make where the characters have some sort of purpose to their being on the screen and the action is good when it's called for, but the dialogue is really good. |

Bizarre Bunch is annoying.... i don't like Jongnam, Kiwoong, Haein... almost all the characters! they were so annoying.... i'm glad now this show is over but i'm not interested by Pure In Heart, their new family drama....
someone say to me that Emperor of the Sea is a good drama.... do you know this drama???? _________________ there's something in this world that's more painful than death, it's letting you go... i think i can get anything in this world if i had enough money but, i can't buy time.... should i ask you to wait until i can get into your heart! |

I have heard of it, but because Channel 35 only shows the KBS Drama's we won't be able to see it, but EVERYONE says that it is VERY GOOD!
If you can see it, then enjoy it because I can't. |
