Hello,

I've been the happy owner of a fresh new laptop. of course, it's a japanese technology, not saying it's just a Toshiba. I had to buy a powerfull one to support my homework for some time, but this is my computer and I'll soon be able to use it for myself.

so this is was the good news.

the bad news is that it's vista installed. proud product from the unholy-piece-of-crap company. never seen a so useless bunch of stinky binary codes.

I hate you Bill Gates. you are my personal enemy for eternity.

Hello best chemistry...
well fist of all, I too would be happy with a new laptop. Especailly if it were free and from the company I work for. Fortunately I have managed to stay away from Vista, but I must say I can understand your frustration. Hopefully you were given lots of memory!

On a somewhat related topic, I bought my wife a laptop some weeks ago...it was a Sony Vaio...and it was PINK!!! She loved it...but to my annoyance, not only was it a Vista OS, it also came with all the Sony crap too karate Good thing she only uses it for Internet and Word...and good thing it came with 2 gigs of ram.

So, I guess your previous statement begs the question...what were you using before your Vista intrusion? Mac, or some Linix system... or some earlier rendition of Windows...

Me personally, I tried to by a Mac some two years ago, but all the salepeople were idiots. They were not able to answer my basic question..."why buy a Mac?" all they could say was...because it's a Mac. And well, that did not work for me. So I went with the biggest friggen PC you could imagine with an XP OS...and the darned thing has been humming faultlessly ever since. So...I don't know...maybe Bill got it right with XP...and missed the boat with Vista.

Bottom line, I just hope you end up liking your laptop as much as my wife likes her pink one! Exclamation

Hello Prisoner,

dammitt, this pink laptop is absolutely cute !

mine is more conventional, because I've been driven in my choice by some technical features, as a large screen, function keys above keyboard and numeric pad. I didn't have choice on color, next time I'll think about it.

although, I find my black glossy finition as been fine, because I've been in professional reunions with it about a dozen time. there are a large amount of discussions about my new function, best was to not attract more attentions than I have actually, doing nothing more to be present !

before being under this vistajunk I was in Win2000. but the official OS from my job is winXP.

anyway, we have more changes since this laptop. a fresh new large screen LCD TV as invaded the wall of our appartment, a Sony 107 cm. great !

bandwidth have been increased too. from my 512 Kb, we're in 4Mb now. unfortunately, I've not managed to test this connexion with my laptop, for some security reasons and we still have my old computer as internet access for some time. wathever my oldy one is slow, I can download some silly japanese TV broadcasts at a good speed, some reach about 475 Kb/s. taking account that in the best conditions I've never been able to download more faster than 60 Kb/s, it's easy to understand than we are entering in a new period of sharing possibilities.

Very nice the VAIO. But in pink it's only for the girls ! Smile

I have a ASUS F-5 (taiwanese brand). It's not very pretty, but it's efficient and sober.

Best chemistry, you have a picture of your laptop ?
